L Platform Quality Leader
Description
We are looking for a talented L Platform Quality Leader to join our team specializing in Quality for our Business Segment or Corporate Organization in Columbus, Indiana/Your home office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Responsible for the execution of all or a subset of a key process in the New and/or Current Product Quality space. For example, in current product quality this could be the PQC and/or GPRP process, or in VPI this could be the PPP, VPI or asseesment process. In the Corporate function this could mean leading improvement initiatives relating to these processes; people capabilities, processes, and tools. This role advocates for product quality and is an internal champion on behalf of the customer. This role partners very strongly with the Customer Quality role.
Responsible for the capability of the process within the business unit or entity
Ensure the process is operational and capable of meeting the needs of the business
Escalate any gaps in resources, requirements that prohibit operation of the process
Ensure key process indicators are visible to the right stakeholders and that process performance is clearly communciated
Lead and/or sponsor improvement work that improves the capability of the process and define a roadmap for future improvement
Ensure the process is delivering value to customers through effective measures and voice of customer (VOC)
Assess the effectiveness and capability of the process by leading and/or sponsoring resulting improvement work
Ensure users of the process are trained and capable
Coaches best practice for execution of the processes
Where necessary, ensure users have pre-defined escalation paths to quickly eliminate road blocks

Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Certified Green Belt preferred (Can be General, PPS, or 6S stats)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Significant relevant experience required (5 Years) Areas of Experience Preferred: Customer Facing, Cross Functional, Service or Product Engineering, Quality.
Responsible for supporting the L platform globally from the quality space, managing warranty spend, cost of coverage targets, identifying top issues and leveraging engineering and PPS teams to work resolution for top issues.
Integral part of the L platform core team that consists of engineering, service, reliability, and quality.
Partner with Cummins manufacturing plants globally, working closely with the RMEP and DEP quality teams to overall benefit the product and customer expectations.
Partnering with SQIE organization on top supplier quality issues and concerns.
Enjoys working in a high paced platform team environment.
Class One VPI program support to ensure quality is built into the next generation of engine.
Role vision is to spend 60% of the time on the VPI (Future Product) and 40% on the current product side of business.
Self-Starter, motivated, passionate, values relationships, strong coaching, and mentoring skills, enjoys collaboration, manages conflict well, strives to make the product the best possible.
System level understanding of engines, aftertreatment and vehicle integration is desired.
Data driven. Utilizes data to prepare business proposal to the team and leadership.
Comfortable influencing and sharing data to drive key business decisions.
Travel- Supporting plants RMEP, DEP and customers.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
