This is an exciting opportunity in Darlington for a Customer Quality Assurance Engineer.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
You will act as the primary customer support point of contact for quality-related engine faults and issues as reported by your allocated customers.
You will lead fault containment activity – diagnosing and documenting faults, and arranging and managing corrective actions.
You will facilitate and lead cross-functional meetings to drive short and long-term solutions.
You will analyse and manipulate quality-performance data to derive meaningful information and to drive improvement for your allocated customer base.
You will represent Cummins’ Quality function at customer forums.
Using written reports and standardised data, you will provide feedback in the customer’s preferred format.
You will action warranty claims in line with Service Level Agreements.
Through effective consultation and communication, you will ensure customers’ specific requirements are understood and incorporated into products and engineering processes.
Support IATF16949/ISO9001 internal audit programme, with the possibility of developing into a Lead Auditor role (Process/Manufacturing/Product).
You will compile engine PPAP information and submit to customer where required.
Skills and Experience Required:
Quality Tools & Disciplines, eg. APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001.
Quality Management Systems (IATF16949), ideally with experience as a Lead Auditor.
Experience of engine fault diagnosis and resolution.
A high degree of self-motivation and self-sufficiency.
Flexibility, resilience and dependability.
Customer-focused, with the drive and skills to support continuous improvement.
A high standard of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently, clearly, and concisely to relevant stakeholders of all levels.
Relationship building – internal and external.
Proficient MS Office, Excel advanced use essential (Minitab also preferred).
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Minimum HNC level qualification in an Engineering or Customer Services related discipline,
Or: equivalent vocational experience in a customer-facing Engineering Quality role
Compensation and Benefits
A base salary of £33-36,000 (dependent on experience)
Annual variable compensation of up to 8%
