This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry for a Quality Engineer.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
You will provide strong leadership and direction to a team of Quality Technicians in our Supplier Quality department.
You will facilitate and lead daily meetings to assess work flow and to set priorities.
You and your technical team will communicate with suppliers and Cummins engineers situated globally to quickly resolve quality issues.
You will manage Supplier quality issue containment activities and rectification planning.
You will lead proactive and continuous improvement quality initiatives – process audits, continuous improvement & other quality related tools, following the 6 Sigma framework.
The team will support PPAP activities when internal suppliers make any changes.
As team leader, you will be responsible for applicable systems related to plant support quality requirements, supplier corrective action requests, material non-conforming reports and other actions needed to support the plant.
You will oversee the communication and escalation of SQP (Serious Quality Problem) issues.
Skills and Experience Required:
Team leadership experience
Excellent prioritisation skills, to enable you and others to effectively manage time and output.
Familiarity with standard engineering product quality tools and processes – APQP, AIAG, FMEA, FTA
Previous exposure to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Excellent Microsoft skills – Advanced Excel use for Quality data reporting and analysis.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelors degree in an engineering-related discipline
OR equivalent vocational qualifications
OR equivalent work experience in a relevant Quality Engineering field.
Compensation and Benefits
A base salary of £30-36,000 (dependent on experience)
Annual Variable compensation
Healthshield to assist with costs of opticians, dentist, physiotherapist etc
Pension (Cummins contributions up to 7%)
25 days holiday (22 elective and 3 non-elective days at Christmas) plus statutory holidays
