This is an exciting opportunity for Supplier Quality Improvement Engineers – Senior #SC028 in Ladson, South Carolina.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Assess engine components and tools, supplier quality systems, supplier selection, and strategic sourcing process development with the objective of overall quality improvement and resolution of supplier quality issues.
Evaluate supplier’s quality systems and manufacturing processes and work with supplier to ensure all product requirements are met.
Utilize Pareto analysis, histograms, control charts and complex tools including Design of Experiments and Quality Function Deployment to facilitate continuous supplier performance improvement activities to reduce defects.
Oversee supplier quality resources for new engine product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues and improve manufacturing production process capabilities.
Develop and implement quality systems to ensure compliance to ISO/TS 16949 standards and AIAG Core Tools Expectation to reduce variation and waste in the operations’ supply chain.
Select, develop, manage and ensure defect-free performance of the business’ supplier base with the objective of overall quality improvement.
Apply dimensional measurement science in the development and application of measurement/inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting mechanical design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, user and product requirements.
Take Corrective and Preventive Action processes and measure supplier quality performance according to established procedures.
Utilize Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure good quality process changes for existing products.
Lead processes to drive sustainable supplier performance improvements utilizing Six Sigma methodologies 3P, 5 Why and Fault Tree Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Establish and coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment in the prescribed condition.
Oversee the supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve mechanical process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:
Position requires a Master’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality or Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality or Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, or related position.
JOB SITE: Ladson, South Carolina
WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
