Quality Associate-2nd Shift
Description
Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications and trains others. Works under minimal supervision.
Verifies the final quality of products on the production line.
Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
Separates products that do not meet the desired technical specification, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment.
Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems.
Trains others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming product and documentation.
Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the Company.

Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.
Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assists in the development and implementation of new methods and procedures.
Conduct in-depth Non-Conforming Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
Assist engineers for projects, test jobs and short-term containment actions.
Ensure all quality techs following NC procedure and supervise parts taken out from NC cage.
Provide training to less experienced Romer Technicians (if required).
Required to perform lab testing activities (if required).
Provide coverage to Romer table in absence of Quality Technician
Assist in conducting SLP inspections for newly launched products.
Managing Wire Routing & Drain Plugs Reference Sheets on all the final Mfg. lines.
Keep work area safe and clean (5S – Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
Promote quality workmanship that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
Perform other duties as directed by the Manager.
