We are looking for a talented Senior Plant VPI Quality Associate specializing in supporting Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs, assisting in monitoring materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments, and ensuring maintenance of documentation and records to join our team for our location in Mineral Point, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.

  • Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).

  • Records results and prepare simple technical reports.

  • Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.

  • Provides advanced programming, training, and operation of measurement and test equipment.

  • Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data.

  • Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results.

  • Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

  • Highlight part measurement challenges at the when running Limited Production parts on production equipment.

  • Be engaged 100% with Limited Production build of all New program parts on the floor and highlight manufacturing and Quality challenges.

  • Address systemic issues such as weld and non-weld issues (attribute issues) that are common across Limited Production parts and current products.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities when running Limited Production parts.

  • Provide feedback to disturbance tracker and address issues with Manufacturing.

  • Provide feedback for waivers / deviations needed for Limited Production parts.

  • Assist plant Quality Engineers on Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plan (CP), Manufacturing Quality Verification (MQV) work.

  • Assist Plant Quality Engineers with Process capability analysis and highlight characteristics from Limited Production parts that do not meet capability threshold.

  • Complete Classification of Characteristics tracking sheet for Limited Production parts.

  • Provide feedback on supplied components fit up issues.

  • Lead root cause analysis for Limited Production customer returns and work with Cross-Functional Work team to implement corrective actions.

  • Assist with Safe Launch Process documentation and Paynter charts for Limited Production.

  • Provide feedback on 100% inspection of Limited Production parts.

  • Assist in providing training to operators on Quality criteria.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

  • Radiation and Physical.

  • Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.

  • Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. Layered Process Audit inspection, test, audit) to ensure quality of Cummins products and processes.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Engineering required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience

  • Ability to work schedule – Predominantly 1st Shift (Start time may change based on the needs of the facility)

  • Pay based on experience level

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
