EQA Technician--1st Shift
Description
Assists in monitoring materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under close supervision.
Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality).
Records results and prepare simple technical reports.
Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment.

Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Minimal or no work experience required.
In this role, the individual will:
Tear down engines to assess overall quality, including emerging trends
Effectively use measurement tools to assess engine quality
Assess reusability of engine parts
Periodically support engine rework opportunities and campaigns
The individual should be able to attain a fork truck license and possess basic computer skills. Previous experience with engines and understanding of engine systems / parts will allow the individual to advance to a Level II quickly.
