We are looking for a talented Machining Quality Engineer 3 RD Shift to join our team specializing in quality for our Power Systems Business in Seymour Indiana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • 3RDShift Quality Engineer role supporting operations activities acting as Team Manager. Applies the principles of product quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the manufacturing and installation operations of the organization.

  • Responsible for applicable systems related to plant customer issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, nonconforming material reports, etc.

  • Submit data to PE (Product Engineers) for waivers for out of spec characteristics.

  • Suggest/Recommend machine moves to ME team by analyzing quality data trends for out-of-spec characteristics.

  • Distribute weekly report of Cp/Cpk data of major features including notes.

  • Submits quality reports to SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer) and other team members as needed (MNC’s, scrap cards, etc.).

  • Complete Quality section on ER (Engineering Release) as needed. Develop and maintain quality process inspection plans, checksheets, spec plan in QC-Gage software.

  • Track and implement RFT (Right First Time) /PQP (Plant Quality Problem) improvement projects for machining

  • Perform quality investigations and lead internal campaigns (quality spills) when needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Desire to work 3RDShift

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering with Quality courses

  • Relevant work experience with understanding of Manufacturing and Quality

  • Proficient in use of QC-CALC, Minitab or other similar software for collecting and analyzing quality data.

  • Good working knowledge of Control plans, Quality Checksheets and PFMEA.

  • Knowledge/understanding of Millipore processes.

  • Good understanding of Microsoft office tools and their use.

  • Experience in troubleshooting tools (5 Whys, FTA, 7 Steps)

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
